Wanting to gain more confidence and control in your voice?

Looking to expand range and find freedom or build endurance?

I offer lessons from the comfort of your home via video chat - you can learn without having to drive through bad weather, or worry about others hearing you in studio!

If you reside in Calgary, in-person lessons are also available.

I have over 12 years experience as a vocal coach and over 15 years as a musician. I’ve been trained in voice and piano (Music diploma 08’) and I have continued to further my education with training under some of the best coaches and countless workshops/seminars on vocal health and voice science! Singing is my passion and I love sharing my knowledge in a fun and interactive way. As a coach I use a holistic approach and my goal is to not only provide information on how and why the voice functions as an instrument but to be a support system on your journey and guide you to find your authentic voice. The key is finding healthy ways for you to use your voice - in any genre -while creating strong habits in a supportive atmosphere.

In lessons with me you’ll learn about technique, warm ups, vocal health, intonation, tone, range, breathing, flexibility, style and more- all while keeping your instrument safe. On top of this, if you’re interested in performing I would love to share my tips and tricks for life on stage. If you have interest in theory and reading music we can focus on that or if you desire to write your own songs I love composition and have a vast skill set to help people with songwriting! I also tailor each lesson to the individual student and record warm ups specific to your range and goals during the session.

If you want to develop your skills more fully, I have the experience and passion to help you. Message me at kaylawilliamsmusic.info@gmail.com

TESTIMONIALS

Kayla instills confidence. I was told I am tone deaf as a young student, so singing has always been a sore point for me. Kayla helped me to ignore all that and give it a go. When we met and I performed a little, she saw the weak points that I can work on, but also told me the strengths I already have! If you’re nervous, don’t be, she will guide you through becoming a better singer with no judgement, only care and love.

Kayla Williams has not only been a fantastic and influential vocal coach for my daughter for the past five years, she has been an encouraging and positive role model in my daughter’s life. By exploring a wide range of musical genres, Kayla provided Jorja with vocal training, song writing instruction, theory and performance opportunities to develop her skills as a musician. Kayla’s energy, talent and personality were a perfect fit.

Kayla has been an amazing teacher. I’ve been taking piano lessons with her for a few months now and her teaching style is great! She has been more than willing to accommodate my own learning style and has kept lessons and learning fun and on point with what I am personally interested in. I’m very happy to have found her!

Kayla is a very fun teacher to have. We get to experiment with many different styles of music and work on many different techniques for singing. She is very encouraging and helps you learn different skills and songs that you are interested in. She also pushes you to do your best and makes the challenging parts fun. I have taken lessons from her for two years and I can’t wait for my third.

I have been taking piano lessons from Kayla for one year. As an adult learner I was looking for an instructor that was progressive in their thinking and could adapt from a regular program and challenge me. Kayla has certainly met my expectations by balancing theory and a programmed approach with allowing me to select pieces that stretch and challenge me. She recognizes the good components while providing clear feedback on the areas that need further refining. I would highly recommend Kayla as a talented musician and instructor.
